LET'S
ALL SAVE WATER & $$
On June 1, 2009
strict water use restrictions
go into place in Los Angeles.
We hope this quick guide will help
GGPNC stakeholders figure out how much Tier 1 (less expensive) water
you are
allowed once the 15% reduction in water allocations goes into effect.
Water is
billed in units of 100 cubic feet (HCF) which is 748 gallons. The cost of each 100HCF starting July
1, will be:
$3.422 for Tier 1 and $5.480 for Tier 2 an extra cost of $2.06 per HCF for Tier 2. (June water rates are 2.983 for Tier 1 and $5.190 for Tier 2) The water allowances are for single family residences based on the size of your lot* with increased allotments if there are more than 6 people in the household.**
*You can find your lot size
at http://zimas.lacity.org/search.asp
by entering your address and clicking on "report"
**For larger households you may add additional HCF units to the amounts in the list above 4 HCF for 7 persons, 6 HCF for 8 persons, 10 HCF for 9 persons, plus 2 HCF for each additional person up to 13. Use of sprinklers is limited to Mondays and
Thursdays before 9am or
after 4pm
Hoses must be equipped with self-closing nozzles, but may be used any day except between 9am and 4pm. Washing down driveways, sidewalks, or other paved surfaces is prohibited as is car washing with your hose unless equipped with a self-closing nozzle. The DWP list of water restrictions can be found at: http://www.ladwp.com/ladwp/cms/ladwp009868.pdf Click here for the full water conservation law. Phase III begins on June 1, 2009 The DWP does have programs to help you cut water use including free low-flow showerheads and faucet aerators. The DWP also has many rebate programs for water efficient toilets, appliances and irrigation systems. ================= BACK TO: GGPNC CALENDAR TOP OF THIS PAGE GGPNC HOME PAGE EVENTS |
