Vacant GGPNC PositionsReligious Community Seat on the Governing Board The Religious Community seat represents the interests of the various organizations of a spiritual nature across all five of the GGPNC’s geographical districts (A-E). This person is a voting member of the Governing Board. This position serves as the GGPNC Governing Board’s official liaison to faith-based organizations that meet within the GGPNC boundaries. The Governing Board is currently accepting applications from interested stakeholders who wish to volunteer for this position. Interested applicants should submit their applications no later than October 1, 2010. The Governing Board will meet at 7:00 pm on the second floor of the Citibank Building on Hillhurst Ave. on October 19, 2010, to hear from candidates and select a new representative. Parks, River, and Open Space (PROS) Committee Chair PROS COMMITTEE PURPOSE As integral parts of the GGPNC community and significant resources for all of Los Angeles, we advocate support within these public areas for: Active and passive recreation; Educational and cultural experiences on many levels; Habitat for and encounters with native wildlife and plant communities. The Committee seeks to balance these uses and interests to foster a greater appreciation and support for these vital resources.
PROS CHAIR DESCRIPTION It is expected that the chair will, among other things, stay abreast of the central issues, and maintain productive working relationships with, the key governmental and community players in the committee’s area of concentration; attend public meetings where legislation or projects are being discussed that may directly impact stakeholder interests; and subsequently report the known facts to the board in a fair and balanced manner. Issues, projects and legislative items that arise are to be vetted by the full committee and brought forward in a timely manner to the GGPNC Board for consideration and action. Chair responsibilities include: setting meeting dates and locations; creating and distributing meeting notices, agendas and minutes; producing and posting meeting minutes in a timely manner; providing periodic progress reports to the governing board; maintaining an up-to-date committee stakeholder notification list; and assuring that all business conducted by the The Executive Committee is currently accepting applications from interested stakeholders who wish to volunteer for this position. There will be a special meeting of the Executive and Outreach Committees to hear from applicants at 7:30 pm at the Ranger House on Riverside Dr. on October 5, 2010.
