MINUTES  GREEN Committee
JANUARY 22, 2009 at 5 p.m.
2173 Cedarhurst Drive, Los Angeles CA 90027
This was a very informal meeting. Meg suggested that plastic shopping bags were a great place to start. She said she would come up with a proposal for the GGPNC to buy some reusable bags so as to encourage people to not use plastic shopping bags.
Justine said she would talk to some vendors on Hillhurst to gage interest.
Tomas said Earth day would be a great day to start and also said that he would love to bring a proposal to the next board meeting.

Meg was happy to hear that Franklin Elementary was getting rid of its water and juice drive. Justine Tomas and Meg could not believe how much resistance there was from just a few people. Justine added that it was about 7000 plastic bottles less, so all is well that ends well. Meg said why not encourage them and see if the GGPNC would pay for the water crocks etc. Tomas said that seeing it was a school, then let’s ask the education committee to propose it. Justine would attend the next education meet and see if she could make that happen. She thought say $300 would be appropriate
